Consumer Duty
The Consumer Duty, which is being introduced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) sets higher and clearer standards of consumer protection across financial services. This will require firms to act to deliver good outcomes for customers, even if it means sacrificing some of their own profits.

IIn 2024 the FCA announced that multiple insurance firms have agreed to pause sales of Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) insurance, following a request from the FCA. An action taken after dealerships failed to provide a fair value product to customers. GAPinsure.com is one of a handful of providers whom have been given permission by the FCA to provide GAP insurance in the wake of this review.
